In September 2026, Stanley Roof and Solar replaced the roof on Ron’s home in Green Arbor Village, La Center, WA. The roof was past its serviceable life, and Ron wanted it replaced before winter. The attic inspection showed the plywood in excellent condition, but once the shingles came off we found 14 sheets that were rotting and damaged. We documented them in photos and video, replaced them and installed a complete Malarkey roofing system with Vista AR shingles in Antique Brown, finishing in two days.

What was wrong
The roof was showing its age and was past its serviceable life. There were no active leaks causing drywall damage yet.
The plywood sheets were not properly secured to the trusses, there were signs of minor ventilation issues, and the appliance exhaust vents were not properly secured.
What we did
- Removed the old roof and replaced 14 sheets of rotted plywood.
- Re-nailed the plywood sheets to the roof trusses.
- Prepped the deck for a future solar installation so the solar penetrations can be added leak-free later.
- Installed Malarkey 1040 permeable underlayment to help with the ventilation issues, plus Malarkey 401 Arctic Seal and SmartStart starter shingles.
- Installed Malarkey Vista AR shingles in Antique Brown with Malarkey EZ-Ridge hip and ridge caps.
- Attached the appliance exhaust tubing properly to US-made Lifetime Tool pipe flashings, and installed a Lifetime Tool bath vent.

Ron received a Malarkey premium warranty, which backs up Stanley’s labor warranty for 25 years and includes a lifetime warranty on the shingles.
